Rarely do I let people borrow my books. I kinda have a break it you buy it policy. If you return my book in good condition then I’m fine. But if you destroy my book or don’t bother returning it at all, then you’ll be paying for the book you tore up or lost. The few times I have let people borrowed my books, they’ve returned said books in good condition. I let a former co-worker borrow a book of mine because she wanted to re-read a certain book (and she let me borrow one of hers). Another time I let my husband’s nephew read a series I had (which he ended up enjoying).

But the act of letting someone else borrow one of my books doesn’t occur very often. I’ve let some other people borrow something else of mine and it was either torn up when they returned it or not returned at all. So, I’ve come to not let people borrow anything from me at all recently because I’ve not had good luck with it. I’m especially picky with my books and who I loan them out to. Whether I let some borrow one of my books again…..that depends on the person I’m loaning my book to.
