How have your reading tastes changed over time?
When I was younger, I didn’t really enjoy reading anything horror related because I was afraid it would give me nightmares. But then I read a few of the Goosebump’s from R. L. Stine and the Scary Stories to tell in the Dark series by Alvin Schwartz. That’s when things started to change for me. I now love to read a good horror on occasion….especially around Halloween. I think I just picked up those books at just the right time when I was getting old enough to realize it’s just fiction and not real.
I don’t normally like to read romance…..I’m not knocking it, it’s just not my cup of tea. But I think that changed a little when I read the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer and more recently the Crave series by Tracy Wolff. I also ended up reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer (I borrowed that book from a friend when I read it) and I also ended up reading the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy from Maggie Stiefvater.
I’ve also begun reading poetry as of late. I started reading it as part of my reading goals for the year. One of my reading goals was to try something new and adding poetry happened to be the new thing I incorporated into my reading. Now, I try to read poetry periodically throughout the year (in between all my other reading.
