The Fireside Chats

Well, I finished reading this last night and I thought I’d share. This book is a collection of short stories written by different authors. Some of the authors I am familiar with and some I’m not but it was a good book to say the least. It kind of reminds me of the “Scary Tales to Tell in the Dark” trilogy by Alvin Schwartz. I think this book is geared more towards kids (if your kids don’t scare easily). I probably would put this around 5th grade through 7th grade, but it can vary depending on the maturity of your child (or children).

Flesh-hungry ogres? Brains full of spiders? Haunted houses you can’t escape? This collection of 35 terrifying stories from the Horror Writers Association has it all, including ghastly illustrations from Iris Compiet that will absolutely chill readers to the bone.

So turn off your lamps, click on your flashlights, and prepare—if you dare—to be utterly spooked!
