New Year, New Goals!

Happy New Year to everyone!

As always, I try to read more than I did the year before. I always like to see if I can out-do myself. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I don’t, but that’s okay.

In the past, I’ve tried to introduce something new. One year, I introduced myself to poetry. Another year, I introduced myself to historical fiction. Well, I hope to see if I can introduce myself to something new again this year. I introduce myself to new author’s all the time so I’m not sure if that would count. I am trying to introduce myself to something I normally wouldn’t and go out of my comfort zone a little bit.

Last year, I read an entire children’s series. Years ago, I had read through Lemony Snicket’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events” but this last year I’ve read through the series “The Spiderwick Chronicles”. I’m thinking that may become a thing…..introducing a series or more stuff for the kiddos, if possible. I do read the occasional children’s book (as long as the story lines are able to hold my attention).

Do you have any reading goals for the year? If so, what are your reading goals?

I want to get around to reading Stephen King’s It this year. I never read this Stephen King book before, and I already know there’s some raunchy stuff in the book so that might be difficult to read. There’s other Stephen King books I never read before like Pet Sematary that I want to read as well. It’s cool you’re going back and reading children’s books, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!

  2. Happy new year to you too my dear and I wish you the best of 2026. I usually have a plan to read at least 7 books every year. I’m targeting reading 3 in horror genre, 2 psychological thriller and 2 in comedy. This is how I’ve mapped out my 2026 reading plan.

    2. The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman
    3. Nothing More to Tell by Karen M. McManus

Due to my mom’s health issues, I haven’t had so much time to read more this year and I don’t know when that’s going to change but I hope soon. We have been in and out of hospital but I think getting some books to read along would be nice.
