What would you do….?

What would you do if you didn’t have literature in your life or if you couldn’t read for whatever reason?

When I was a small child, before I went to school and learned to read on my own, I remember someone reading to me. I still enjoyed that back then and I still enjoyed it as I got older and learned how to read over the years at school. Now, I enjoy reading by myself because I get to pick WHAT I get to read since I’m an adult now and I’m not being told what I can and can’t read by an adult.

I honestly don’t know what I would be doing if I wasn’t able to read. My husband isn’t really a big reader and he watches a lot more tv. That’s okay because that’s what he prefers to do with his time. But I’ve been a reader ever since I learned to read as a child and honestly don’t know what I would do with my free time if I wasn’t able to read. I enjoy playing video games, I’m a big Mario fan since that was what I grew up on. But I don’t know that I like video games as much as I do reading.

If something were to happen and I am unable to read on my own due to not being able to see, I could still listen to audiobooks instead (I hope this doesn’t happen). The only bad thing is I wouldn’t be able to read the books I’ve accumulated in my personal library and I’d end up having to listen to everything on a device instead.

  1. Great question. I’d paint or do pottery or play tennis… depends on the time of day, I guess.

    1. That’s a good answer. Unfortunately, I’m not any good at any of those things. I guess I’d take up writing……maybe see where that leads.

  2. As much as I enjoyed reading as a kid, there was something else I loved and enjoyed doing more. It was molding. There are so many jars and flower vase I made as a kid which are still in my possession now.

  3. I’ve always been very good at writing. I started writing poems at the age of 14 years old. I’ve written more than 50 poems at the moment and I’m not slowing down at it. I’ll have writing as what to do.
