The Fireside Chats

This little novella was an easy read. When I say “easy read”, I meant it was easy to sit down and read in a single sitting. I loved how the story went and how it ended. I don’t want to say anything more because I don’t want to ruin this story for anyone that wants to read this. It’s a great story merging both Halloween and Christmas. It’s perfect to read for either holiday. I know it sounds like a horror story, and it is. But it does involve a lot of Christmas themes in the story. Either way, if you are looking for a good, spooky story to read around Halloween or Christmas, I’d recommend this one.

Synopsis: Ro, a struggling writer, knows all too well the pain and solitude that holiday festivities can awaken. When she meets four people at the local diner—all of them strangers and as lonely as Ro is—she invites them to an impromptu Christmas dinner. And when that party seems in danger of an early end, she suggests they each tell a ghost story. One that’s seasonally appropriate.

But Ro will come to learn that the horrors hidden in a Christmas tale—or one’s past—can never be tamed once unleashed.
