A favorite childhood memory of mine (one that involves reading) is back when I was in kindergarten. I remember when some of the older kids would come by our classroom and read to us. I loved being read to before I learned the ability to read on my own. When I was in kindergarten, we were just learning our letters of the alphabet during the course of that year.
I don’t remember what books they read to us since that’s been so long ago but I probably didn’t care. I was more interested in the story they were reading. It was one of those moments where it was okay if my mind wondered while they were reading the story.
