I’ve noticed that more and more books are getting a movie based on them now more than there use to. I don’t know if Hollywood is just running out of ideas for new movies or they’re just trying to reach a new audience by attracting all the avid readers to the theaters by making movies based on their favorite books.
Some of the more popular books may even have a “park” built around their story because they are so popular. The Harry Potter series is probably the biggest example of this. I know they have a section of the park at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, that is dedicated to the wizarding world.
Now, when I was a kid, we have a few movies based on books but now they seem to become more prevalent. Even if a book doesn’t get a movie, then it at least gets a tv show. You didn’t see a lot of tv shows when I was a kid either. And having a “park” based on a particular book definitely wasn’t a thing either when I was growing up. When I was a kid, we had fan clubs and that was about it.
