Best books I read last year.

I read so many good books last year that this list is going to be hard.

“The Last Bookshop in London” by Madeline Martin = What was nice was that this book is historical fiction and that’s something that I don’t normally read. So it was a nice surprise. But there is also a little bit of a romance going on on the side and I do read that on occasion.

“A Stranger in the House” by Shari Lapena = This author is starting to become one of my favorites. I’ve read several of her books prior to this one. If you are looking for a good domestic thriller, then you’ll enjoy this book.

“How to Stop Time” by Matt Haig = This is another historical fiction that I read last year. I did enjoy it, especially the way it all ended. There has been details circulating that there will be a movie made based on this book and Benedict Cumberbatch will star as the main character.

“Midwinter Murder” by Agatha Christie = This book is a collection of short stories by Agatha Christie. I’m sure that any fan of Agatha Christie (or anyone who likes mystery for that matter) will enjoy this book. It’s a nice book to read when you want to cozy up next to a fire.

“The Sanatorium” by Sarah Pearse = I read this on my Kindle last year. I’d wanted to read this book because it reminded me of a book by Agatha Christie called “And then there were none” which I had read before I read this book. This book is equal parts mystery and thriller/suspense……if you enjoy such books then you’ll like this one.

  1. Great list! I haven’t read any of these, but I did read ‘And Then There Were None’ and ‘Reasons to Stay Alive’ and I want to read more books by Christie and Haig. I should definitely read ‘How to Stop Time’ before the movie comes out! 🙂

    1. Thank you! I’ll have to check out “Reasons to Stay Alive”. I’ve not read that one.
