Why Reading is so Crucial

Why do I think reading is crucial?

To me, the answer seems simple. If I didn’t have anything to read, I can’t tell you how bored I’d be. I’d go nuts. My hubby would be the same way if I took the tv away from him. You don’t need a lot to be able to read on your own at home.

Plus, reading I think has become more crucial during the pandemic. You will have a way to keep yourself entertained if you are forced to quarantine at home. You don’t have to leave the house to read. You don’t have to leave the house to go get your reading material. You can order your books online or if you are okay with reading e-books then you can have them downloaded to your tablet/e-reader the minute you purchase them. Also, some libraries have the ability to let you book digitally. That would be something to check into in case you find yourself stuck at home and don’t have much money to spend.

Reading is also a way to learn something new. Whether you are in school, furthering your education in college or trade school somewhere or you’re just learning on your own outside of school, you are going to be reading. It’s part of the process of learning. Even if you are reading for the fun of it, you could be learning something. For instance, you could increase your vocabulary and it could increase your ability to empathize.

I have to have books in my life. Reading them is my main source of relieving stress. If I didn’t have that, I’m sure I’d go crazy. I really don’t want to see what my life would be like if I couldn’t read.

  1. Reading is great way to slow down your mind and let go of stress factors. There is something about focusing on the story in front of you. It’s definitely a great temporary escape from reality!

    1. I agree with you on that. I think that is why I like it so much (besides it being entertaining).
