Escapism

I love the ability to be able to visit different worlds without having to leave my couch. I love getting to visit places like Hogwarts, Penem, Narnia, Middle Earth, Westeros, The Land of Oz, Neverland, and so many more. This escapism has allowed me to leave behind the stress of the day and focus on something else. So, not only do I get to visit different places each time I pick up a new book, but I get to relieve any stress from the day. You can’t get any better than that (in my opinion).

Learning

I know some people read in order to learn things (regardless if you are in school still or not). There’s nothing wrong with improving your life in some form or fashion. So, regardless of what subject you pick to learn about, go ahead and learn.

Re-reading

You can’t go back and eat that slice of bread again. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. However, you can go back and re-read your favorite books again. I plan on re-reading the Harry Potter series once I’ve collected all the illustrated editions of the books (they need to hurry up and complete books 5, 6 and 7 so that I can get started on this).
