My husband isn’t a reader like I am. I’ve not really tried to get him to read ’cause I know he’s just not that into it. When I collect all the illustrated editions of the Harry Potter series, I plan on re-reading the series. I’ve thought about reading that out loud so my husband can listen to it while I’m re-reading the series (and look at the wonderful artwork in them). He’s watched all the Harry Potter movies, however, he’s never read the books and I’ve always told him the books are so much better.
But when I was a kid and the teacher told us to read our books (mostly likely they were our books we checked out from the school library), I was always the kid that was happy about that. I loved reading and I was happy to have permission to do it in class (which meant that I wouldn’t get into trouble for doing it). Plus, if it was test day in school and I happen to finish my test before everyone else had finished theirs, I’m happy to pull out whatever book I have on hand and read. This allows me to entertain myself without disturbing the people around me.
