The Fireside Chats

Now, this is a list of books that I’d recommend for adults. If you know any adults that are readers then maybe some of these may interest them. Or if you are a reader yourself, then maybe you’ll find something for yourself. There are some series/trilogies in the mix and I’ve listed the books in order in case you go looking for them at the library or book store.

Mordecai Tremaine series by Frances Duncan = Fans of Agatha Christie (or any fans of mystery in general) will enjoy this series.

The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin = A stand alone novel that includes historical fiction and a little romance.

Carrie by Stephen King = A stand alone horror novel from a popular horror writer.

Gotcha! series by Wayne Hancock = This is another classic mystery series. If you enjoy a “whodunit” novel then sink into these.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series by Stieg Larsson (continued by David Langercrantz) = These books follow a female character who is not your typical heroine.

• The Girl in the Spider’s Web
• The Girl who Takes an Eye for an Eye
• The Girl who Lived Twice

The Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena = This is a stand alone novel for people who enjoy a good mystery novel.

The Orion Project by Curt Caufield = If you are into science fiction, then you should give this book a try. There’s more books to come, just waiting for them to come out.

Locke & Key series by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguiz = If you are a comic book fan, then you may enjoy this series. But I put this on my adult list because it belongs in the horror genre and there are things that may not be suitable for younger audiences.

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson = This is a stand alone from the horror genre. They made a tv show based on this. I thought the show was pretty good but it’s very “loosely” based on the book. There’s a lot of differences but I still think the show was good if you read the book or now.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie = This is probably, by far, my favorite novel by Agatha Christie (I’m not saying her other works weren’t good or anything like that).

NOS4A2 by Joe Hill = A stand alone novel from horror author Joe Hill

Fort Whiskey by David Banks = This is a stand alone novel. If you like westerns or historical fiction, you should give this a try.
