Has there ever been a time when literature has sent you running for cover? If so, why?
A few examples may include….
- Hiding during or after reading a book that is scary (especially during a thunderstorm)
- Running away from a book that is really awful
I like to read some scary books, especially in the weeks leading up to Halloween. Sometimes I’m just in the mood to read something a little scary even if it isn’t Halloween. But I’ve never read a book that was so scary that gave me nightmares or left me running for cover (not that I can remember anyway).
Once in a while, I will come across a book that is really awful. It doesn’t happen that often but it does occur once in a while. I don’t like it when I read something awful. For one thing, I like to read (always have) so it bums me out when a book isn’t that good. Another thing, I hate loosing all that time reading a book that was awful.
