Right now, with the pandemic going on, people may seem a little obsessed with literature because it gives them something to do during a lockdown. But even before that, people have been reading literature for a long time.

• Entertainment = Much like people who like to watch tv or movies, there are some people who enjoy reading as a form of entertainment. Instead of a show that lasts half an hour to an hour or a movie that last a couple of hours, you can spend a lot longer than that reading a book.
• Relaxation = Some people find reading to be relaxing. It’s like giving your brain a vacation. However, you don’t have to actually go anywhere and it’s much cheaper than actually paying for a vacation.
• Loose power? = Have you ever lost power at your house? Sucks doesn’t it? Well, you can have something to do still if you have something to read.
• Something to do = Like I mentioned before, if you’re forced to stay at home (maybe it’s because of the pandemic or maybe it’s snowed so much you can’t leave your house) then you have something to do to keep you from going stir crazy.
