The Fireside Chats

With Wikipedia around, you can often find out information about anything and learn about it faster than you would otherwise. But there’s something you’re not getting out of it if you don’t read that book or watch that movie yourself.

Here’s what you don’t get if you read it on Wikipedia….

• You don’t get to know the characters. Over the course of the book, you get to watch the character grow. You can become really attached to some of the characters, even to the point that you may cry a little if they die at some point during the book.
• You’re not as invested in the story lines. Reading what happened on Wikipedia doesn’t give you the satisfaction that you’d get from just reading the book yourself. You miss out on all the excitement of the story building and building until you get to the climactic ending.
• You’re not getting the entertainment value out of reading on Wikipedia. Reading can be entertaining, like watching your favorite tv show or movie. However, reading is a lot cheaper or even free if you go to the library.
