Have you ever…?

Being an avid reader, have you ever thought of writing and becoming an author yourself? Why or why not? Would you ever do it if you had the chance?

When I was going through school and a teacher would ask us to write a story in class, I was always happy to do so. I liked writing assignments in class because I was usually pretty good at it. One teacher even told me I had a really active imagination. This same teacher entered one of my stories in a local writing contest and I ended up doing pretty well in it. I didn’t really expect much going in but I remember being proud of myself. I think I got an honorable mention or something like that.

Anyway, I’ve never thought about making a living out of it and becoming an author. I think it would be nice to do if I had the talents to do it. But I think I’m happy with reading books written by others. I enjoy being immersed in other worlds, even if they aren’t worlds that I’ve created myself.

    I think it would be really good if you tried to write more of your own pieces, especially as you have had such good experiences with it in the past. As for me, I have never been much of a creative writer for stories. I try to improve now through blogging, but mainly I like to write about my thoughts and experiences, I am not sure how I could turn that into a book.

      I like to write on my blog as well. However, I don’t know that I could come up with something good enough to be a book. I would love to be a writer if I had any good ideas for a book.

    When I was younger, I did write quite a lot. I was cleaning my room out a few months ago and found a mini story that I wrote when I was 12 and thought it was quite good for my age. But, now I don’t really read a lot of fiction so don’t write my own stories. I do respect people that do let their imagination and creativity run to create their own stories and that if you are one of them, you should continue doing it.

      I did write quite a few stories myself when I was younger. Usually it was some kind of assignment for school. That was one of my favorite things to do in school.
